ONE YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN
Reading the Bible. Where do you start? How do you do it? I mean, it’s hundreds of pages with things like “cubits” and names like Mahershalalhashbaz. Well, something to remember is that real people like you and I wrote these words: farmers, teachers, husbands, veterans, fisherman... And the words they wrote were inspired, given to them, by God. Why? So that ordinary people like you and I could know who God is, what He’s like, how to live His way (the best way) and how much He loves us.
The same God who created everything from stars in galaxies light years away to mysterious fish in the depths of the ocean... The same God who walked the earth in flesh and blood and said things like “Blessed are you who are poor, yours is the Kingdom of God” and “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life...” We know can that God. That’s exciting. And a guaranteed way to know God is by reading His Word, the Bible.
This Bible Reading Plan is chronological, meaning it follows the order things happened historically. So when you’re reading about David’s persecution from Saul in 1 Samuel 18 you’ll read the Psalm (11) that David wrote about it at the same time. Or when you’re reading about the Apostle Paul’s ministry in Thessalonica in Acts 18 you’ll also read his two Epistles to the Thessalonians.
The other great thing about the Christ Church One Year Bible Plan is that we’re reading it together. Maybe something you read left you with a question... maybe it amazed you... we can share our questions and excitement with each other. And on November 30, 2015 we can all joyfully say “I’ve read the entire Bible.”
